Lesson Plan


Objective: 

Students will be able to identify and correct a run-on sentence


Standard: 

Produce complete sentences, recognizing and correcting inappropriate fragments and run-ons.


Activity:    

  • Students will watch video about run-ons (flocabulary)

  • Students will correct sentences off the smart board for examples

  • Students will work in groups on a worksheet

  • Students will use sentence strips and macaroni noodles to fix run on sentences as a team


Materials:

  • Smartboard 

  • Group activity worksheet

  • Sentence strips

  • Macaroni noodles

  • Video from flocabulary


Questioning: 

  • What is a run-on sentence?

  • How can you prevent a run-on sentence?

  • Why is it important to fix a run-on sentence?


Assessment:

The group work activity worksheet will be taken up for a grade to assess the students knowledge on the subject.
